Mommy's News (Issue 28)
Well it seems that we've hit another small bump in the road. Our little Jonah has another infection. The doctors suspect that it is in his lungs and as such have started some antibiotics. Besides that he is doing well. He had a couple of poopy diapers today (they weren't great but they were better than the skid marks he's been doing). His head shows normal growth, and his weight is right between 1 lb 12 oz and 1 lb 13 oz. Our room in the NICU has had 4 babies in it until today. Last night one of Jonah's room mates went into surgery and never came out and a second baby was moved this morning to another room due to staffing issues. So, it is far more quiet that normal. My heart aches for the mom who lost her little one. He was born at 27 weeks and lived for two weeks before getting NEC (that is where the bowels die) and having to have surgery. It just helps me remember that every moment is precious and that God is in control.
