This was funny. Jonah just woke up, and every time he would smile he would turn his head from Mom so she could not get a picture of him smiling in his new outfit. So you get a stary-eyed look from Jonah groovin' in his 4th of July outfit. Today Jonah was bumped up 6 liters for about an hour today. After an albuterol treatment we were able to bring Jonah back down to 5 liters. The NP said today after learning of Jonah's bad blood gas, "Jonah is flirting with intibation." After clarifying with the NP and learning from the nurse that Jonah had a much better blood gas, from 91 to 69-which is the CO2 content in the blood, the NP recounted his earlier comment and said, "Maybe I was a bit hasty in coming to that conculsion." So a scare, but we are learning Just how serious it is that Jonah is up on his oxygen needs to 5 liters from 1. They are increasing the steriods they started last night from from every 12 hours to every 6 hours. They are trying to get a...
