Well, what to say about today. We received a delightful phone call from the hospital informing us that Jonah has been extibated and is doing ok with no ventilation aide. they report he was very angry and unsettled so they gave him a dose of sedative to help calm him. This happened at 8 am. At 1 pm they put him back on a ventilator without the tube going down his throat. He has a c-pap, kinda, more or less, oxygen is going in through his nose with large gusts, kinda, to help Jonah keep his lungs inflated. As we held Jonah today he was up and down with his anger. It is good to hear him squeak. He can not really cry yet because his vocal cords are still recouperating; yet we can definitely tell when he is wailing!! Jonah received a new outfit from his Auntie Kara. This one made Mom Proud. John Deere. Also Jonah's Grandma Janette made him a beautiful treeco quilt, the cute little booties came from his great aunt Dixie who made them in a matter of minutes while sitting at Tan...

Well today has been a big day for Jonah. at noon he was switched to the Dreager ventilator. He has been doing well with the change and there is talk of extabating (taking his breathing tube out completely). This is both exciting and nerve racking. Exciting that there is even talk of getting him off the ventilator so soon but nerve racking because it is such a big thing. Say an extra prayer for Jonah that his extabation might go smoothly and that he will be ready to breath on his own.
