We're alive

Jonah has been sick since Sunday night. We saw the Dr.today and got him some antibiotic. Hoping he feels much better tomorrow so I can attempt to get the house cleaned up and maybe sneak in a nap!

Music Sunday

Today was the Christmas program in church.  Jonah missed the first song because he had to go potty.  But we made it back in so he could preform the second.  A lot of people commented on Jonah.  He really wasn't making a scene, he was just being his happy little self.  Leading the music and all.  Mommy read a story, and daddy enjoyed it all.  We had a great family nap in the "big bed" will all five, including Molly."  Getting ready for Christmas, some last minute touches, and getting the turkey ready is on the agenda for tomorrow.  Merry Christmas to all!!!

Busy Day

After Jonah's Martial Arts class this morning we piled into the car and went to Grammy's house.  She has asked Daddy to replace the flooring in 2 of her rooms.  We started today with tearing out the old flooring and Daddy had to remove an old heat exchange out of a closet and cover the hole in the floor.  We were able to complete everything in 3.5 hours!  Jonah was a trooper, he helped me tear up old flooring (Parkay), and in the end he helped us clean up all the debris!  He was quite the little worker for a 4 year old!  It was so fun to be able to do some hard work for a few hours.

Awwwe!

Jonah pulled Grammy aside tonight and this was their conversation... Jonah: "Grammy do you know what I want Santa to bring?" Grammy: "No Jonah, What?" Jonah: "I want him to bring a special president (that's how he says Present) for Mommy, and one for Daddy, and for Caleb, and for you, and Nonni, and Mr. Bob too!" Grammy: "What about you, Jonah? Don't you want him to bring you one too?" Jonah; "I'm already getting one!  But I really want him to bring a president for everyone else too!" What a sweet boy we have!

I'm Sick!

Let me preface this post with Jonah has a terrible fear of Santa Clause this year.  When Dave and I were in Hope Depot this morning I saw one of those inflatable yard decorations in the shape of Santa flying a helicopter.  I thought Jonah would think it was cool since he tells everyone that Santa's Sleigh isn't ready so he rides a helicopter.  I told Jonah we were going to make a quick trip to Home Depot.  He was thrilled!  He kept asking if we could find the forklift.  Thinking I would add to his excitement I told him there was a special Santa I wanted him to see when we got to the store.  His face froze then he quickly told me he was feeling a little sick and he needed to stay home and rest.

another one bites the dust!

Bummer now I have the head cold the boys have had.  I'm very thankful for cold meds to ease this sinus pressure.  The day has been overall uneventful.  Jonah went to school and used the potty again!  He is definitely getting better.  Caleb is still coughing and has a runny nose but he is showing signs of improvement.  After martial arts tomorrow Daddy is going to go help Ms. Patty's son move into their new place.  Jonah and I have big plans to either make sugar cookies or paint the wooden snowman ornament I grabbed at Michael's today!

Phone Call and a Hot Date!

I got a phone call today from Jonah's teacher Ms. Bayer.  She said hello then passed the phone to Jonah.  Very excitedly Jonah reported that he had gone poopy in the potty and earned a tic-tac!  His teachers were so excited to finally have Jonah interested in using the toilet!  Hooray! Little by little I've been getting ready all day today for the party.  I threw on my dress moments before we walked out the door.  The party went well.  I was nominated for Best Dressed, Dave won an Amazon Kindle Fire, and we got some much needed "Couple" time.  We made sure to have our picture taken to show Jonah.  It was a little reminiscent of a high school dance until we were handed our pictures ten minutes later (not the 2 week wait from HS) and the pic was 1000 times better than any dance photo Dave or I ever had.

Can you say, Frugal?

Kept Jonah home from school again today.  He seems to finally be on the mend but one  more day of rest will do him good.  We started using Jonah's new "Potty Watch" today.  It is the coolest thing.  It is a little white potty that's on a watch band.  It counts down from 30, 60, or 90 minutes then plays a cute little song and lights flash.  Jonah has been so receptive!  He hears the song and yells, I better go potty now!  More often than not he is successful in going which gives us the opportunity to praise him and make it a big deal!  We'll see how he does with it tomorrow at school. Tonight is my hot date with Dave.  It's the command Christmas Party and the attire is semi-Formal.  I've been working on my outfit for a few days and after spending a grand total of $20 I think I'm ready!  I love the fact that this whole outfit has close friends attached to it.  My friend SheeLee Rock gave me the shoes (months ago), the ...

We're Fine

Sorry I've missed a couple of days.  I'm trying to get a sewing project done for my Hot Date on Thursday night.  The boys are both fighting colds again but are okay thus far.  Remind me to tell you the "Oooo La La" Story!

Santa rides a Helicopter

GRRRRR!  Google says I'm out of storage space for pictures and will have to upgrade if I want to post more pictures! Today we got to see Santa fly in on an HM-52 SeaStallion Helicopter.  It was pretty awesome!  Jonah wanted nothing to do with Old St. Nick but Caleb didn't mind being held by Santa for a quick picture.  The highlight of Jonah's night was first, sitting on the fire engine and exploring it.  Second was winning a brand new bike!!! We spent the evening decorating our gingerbread houses with Zach and Cara.  So much fun!

Fun Friday!

Image
What a fun Friday here at our house!  We were preparing to go up to the church this evening to help set up for the Ward Christmas Party when Grammy asked if she could come hear Jonah sing.  We were delighted to have her! Sweet little Caleb has realized that he can reach for things and explore them with his mouth.  "Hmm, I wonder if this green things tastes good?" What a handsome little dude!  He looks so grown up in his hooded Jacket. Cute big brother!  Jonah was glad to have everyone there.  He's had a bit of a fever on and off today and wasn't sure if he really wanted to be surrounded by so many people and noise. Here are our primary kids getting ready to sing a couple of Christmas songs.  As sluggish as Jonah had been all evening, he perked right up when it was time to perform. Jonah wildly led the singing and sang.  It was impossible not to notice him and his infectious smile. The best part of their performance was w...

GREAT DAY!!!

Image
What a Fantastic day!  Caleb spent some time in the jumper this morning and talked up a storm! I've been wanting to get Caleb into his blessing outfit again for months, finally today I got it done.  Here are a few of my favorites!  "What are these things?  They are fantastic!"  Says Caleb  Look at those eyes!  WOW Baby boy!  "Another one!  Awe Mom!!!"  Caleb had been in my arms fussing so I put him down, and when I checked on him 2 minutes later this is what I found!  My sleeping angel. Adorable! This is Janeah.  She comes to play with us a few days a week.  She a a fantastic helper and as sweet as they come! Jonah had best behaved day he's had in a Long Time!  Way to go Toady! Such concentration!  We were cutting out gingerbread houses as we have invited Grammy and the new family next door on Saturday to decorate them. It was so fun to have such a great helper in the kitc...

Nonni and the Boys!

Image
Nonni was snuggling Caleb for me this morning while I helped Jonah eat.  The instant he had finished he asked to sit with Nonni...  Can you say Jealous?! He He He, the boys are both captivated by Bob the Builder on TV!  It was like Pulling teeth to get Jonah to tear his eyes away from the screen for even a second to snap a pic.

Focus...

Nonni related a story to me this morning.  She was helping get Jonah ready to get into the tub.  He asked Nonni to get him a specific toy.  Nonni was busy preparing Jonah's stuff for his bath and didn't pay attention.  Jonah asked again and before Nonni could acknowledge that she had heard him Jonah says, "Focus Nonni, Focus!"   ...Hmmmm do you think he's heard that a few thousand times?!

Cute!

Jonah on Parade

My little Charmer Jonah decided to put on a parade today in sacrament meeting.  Right in the middle of the meeting Jonah decided he needed to go potty and he wanted Mommy to take him.  (FYI we always sit on the front row.)  I grabbed his hand and started walking down the isle.  At nearly every bench Jonah had to wave and say hello.  He was greeted with smiles, waves, nods, and a few giggles.  Funny boy has wriggled his way into so many people's hearts.  this week is a busy one for our family.  There is so much going on this month!

1st Stripe Saturday

Jonah has been working hard to practice his Martial Arts and today was test day.  Jonah tested his right side kick for his first stripe on his White Belt.  Master C allowed Jonah to hold one hand to help with his poor balance.  Jonah was elated when he passed and got his stripe!  We did a little Christmas shopping this afternoon and Jonah has already spilled the beans on what we got for Daddy (It's a good thing that Jonah's description to Daddy was very general). We also got to play with Ms. Erin for a bit this afternoon!  Jonah was helping me rinse the dishes while I was holding Caleb.  At one point I looked down and realized that Caleb was reaching for Jonah's hair.  With some effort, to Jonah's dismay, he was successful.  Jonah tolerated it for a few times then got upset telling Brother to "Stop That!".  I just had to shake my head since I have to ask Jonah to not pull my hair numerous times a day.
